Is this a good fund-raising idea?
So for the Valentine's Day fund-raiser, one of the clubs I'm in has decided to make clay hearts with love messages on them. We're planning on using cookie cutters to cut them out, inscribing words into them, baking, painting, and maybe attaching beads, ribbons, glitter, etc. to each heart. Each buyer would choose what their heart says.
We were thinking maybe making some necklaces or key chains with the clay hearts too.
Would you buy this? What are some good ways to jazz it up? Do you have any other suggestions for this?
Has anyone done this, or a fund raiser resembling this, before? What were your results?
Our school has a new junk food policy.
We can't sell foods with more than 270 calories or more (I think)

i think that it is a neat idea, but that it is going to be too much work and you won't get to many made....valentines day is all about the treats...use your ideas, but use cookie dough and make eatable jewelery, like you were describing...i think people will buy them up like crazy!! instead of beads, use the candy off of candy necklaces, for ribbon use licorice, etc!! also you could use hershey kisses and with a good needle thread string/thread through them and make "kisses around your neck"...how sweet for valentines!! i think that you guys woudl make a killing doing this for your fundraiser!! good luck with what ever you decide to do and have fun!!!
